SNL Hispanic Award September 2005First Recipients of the 2005 Hispanic Heritage Month Distinguished Honor Award awarded to Pimentel & Sons for epitomizing their theme. "In addition to contributing greatly to New Mexico by 'putting our name on the map' with your outstanding guitars, you have both kept a sense of family and provided for artist contributions through music throughout all of your success and world recognition. This is displayed by the role that your sons have in Pimentel & Sons. Each of them inherited their craftsmanship from you, their father, each having apprenticed under you for more than 20 years. Further, no family would be complete without the nurturing and guidance of a mother." While you, Lorenzo, were working in your shop for your family and their future, you, Josefina, were working in the home for your family and their future."
